HR Data Systems Lead in Glasgow

Your new company Hays HR is delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation based in Glasgow to recruit an experienced HR Data Systems Lead on a 6 month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a systems-focused HR professional to take ownership of the organisation's HR systems function, driving continuous improvement, data integrity, reporting capability, and system optimisation. Your new role Reporting to the Head of HR, you will lead the development, maintenance and optimisation of the organisation's HR information system, ensuring it supports both operational delivery and wider strategic objectives. Working closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, Digital teams and key stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing system functionality, improving processes and driving data-led decision-making across the business. Key Responsibilities: Lead the ongoing maintenance, configuration and optimisation of the HR system (ITrent), including workflows and process improvements. Manage system administration, monitoring system performance and ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, guidance documentation and training materials. Produce and analyse HR data and management information, supporting both scheduled and ad hoc reporting requirements. Create and maintain dashboards and reports to provide meaningful workforce insights. Lead system testing activities following upgrades, enhancements and service pack implementations. Identify system risks, inefficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement. Support the implementation of new HR system modules and functionality. Manage relationships with third-party providers and resolve system-related issues. Provide technical expertise and guidance on HR systems projects and future developments. What you'll need to succeed Significant experience managing and developing HR systems, ideally within a complex organisational environment. Strong HR data analysis, reporting and dashboard development skills. Experience of system configuration, workflow management and testing. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions. A strong focus on process improvement and systems optimisation. High levels of accuracy, attention to detail and data governance awareness. The ability to translate technical information into practical guidance for end users. Experience of HRIS platforms such as iTrent or similar systems would be highly advantageous. What you'll get in return The opportunity to lead and shape HR systems strategy and development.
