We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our HR team for an initial six-month contract with the potential for longer term. This is an opportunity for a proactive HR professional to play a key role in supporting the organisation with complex employee relations casework and the management of attendance and absence processes. You will focus on managing a varied caseload of employee relations matters and leading on attendance management processes, and supporting managers with complex absence cases across a large, multi-site organisation which is growing in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking and managing the absence management for the organisation, which includes:
    • Coordinate and maintain the organisation's absence management tracker.
    • Monitor absence triggers and provide accurate reporting and insight to managers and senior stakeholders.
    • Lead absence review meetings with managers and employees following triggers.
    • Manage complex long-term and short-term absence cases.
    • Liaise with Occupational Health providers on a wide range of physical health and musculoskeletal cases.
    • Provide advice and guidance on wellbeing support and reasonable adjustments.
    • Review and improve absence management processes and procedures.
    • Produce and develop absence management reports and management information.
    • Support managers in driving consistency and best practice across attendance management processes.
  • Wider employer relations cases including:
    • Absence management
    • Performance management
    • Disciplinary matters
    • Grievances

We are looking for a highly experienced HR professional / Senior HR Advisor with a strong background in employee relations and attendance management. You will be confident managing complex and sensitive HR matters and have the ability to influence and support managers at all levels.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior HR Advisor, HR Advisor or equivalent HR professional.
  • Significant experience managing complex employee relations casework.
  • Strong expertise in absence management and attendance review processes.
  • Coaching managers and working on problem areas within the organisation.
  • Experience working with Occupational Health and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Ability to analyse absence data and produce meaningful management reports.
  • Experience working within a complex, multi-site organisation.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • CIPD Level 5 or relevant levels of HR experience.

The Offer

This is an initial 6-month temporary contract with a high potential for a longer-term future as the organisation is growing and will be evolving over time. 3 days per week on site in Eastleigh or other sites when needed / 2 from home. The initial temporary contract will be engaged via Hays on a weekly online time sheet basis.
