The predicted salary is between 48000 - 72000 £ per year.
You will be joining a well-established, well-respected group based in Surrey as a Financial Accountant for an initial 6-month contract as part of a growing finance team.
Your new role:
- To provide accounting, management, internal control and audit support to the Financial Controller.
- Support the Financial Controller (and the CFO by extension) in financial management, regulatory reporting, statutory reporting and managing the finance department’s processes.
- Assist with numerous restructuring activities arising from divestment activities, balance sheet investigations and ‘cleansing’, as well as business partnering with advisors, tax and legal.
- Provide assistance to the Financial Controller, Head of Financial Projects and the CFO as needed.
- Assist with consolidating budgets and cash flow models and improve current consolidation processes.
- Prepare various monthly financial reports and analyses as required by the Financial Controller and CFO.
- Assist with balance sheet and profit and loss clean-ups and advise on the correct course of action.
- Assist in the preparation and provision of information and audit files to the Group’s auditors where necessary.
- Assist with the implementation of a new short-term cash flow statement/model.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with knowledge and experience of IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Experience in divestment or M&A is essential.
- Experience of preparing working papers to audit standards and understanding what auditors require for satisfactory sign-off.
- Audit or professional services background is beneficial.
- Knowledge of VAT and Tax legislation is beneficial.
