As a Tax Senior, you will play a key role in supporting senior accountants and directors with technical tax queries while managing your own portfolio of private clients. This is a varied role that combines compliance and advisory work, offering plenty of scope for development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing day-to-day personal tax compliance for a portfolio of individuals, including high-net-worth clients, business owners, and directors
- Preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns, utilising junior team members where appropriate
- Advising colleagues and clients on a range of tax issues, including capital gains tax, VAT, and aspects of corporation tax
- Meeting prospective clients to understand their needs and explain our services
- Liaising with HMRC on client matters
- Assisting senior managers and directors with tax advisory projects
What you’ll need to succeed:
- A background in personal tax within a UK practice, ideally with awareness of a broader range of UK taxes
- ATT qualification or QBE/CTA part-qualified status
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach and strong communication skills
- Confidence working directly with clients and supporting colleagues
- Experience using IRIS software (advantageous but not essential)
