Hays are currently looking for Year 1 and Year 2 teachers to place in our partnership schools across the Wigan area. These are typically temporary roles; however, there is always a chance for them to turn permanent under the right circumstances. This could be the perfect opportunity for someone looking to be in a more local school, gain more experience across the Wigan area or for an ECT to gain more experience within KS1.
These schools are keen to have a passionate and dedicated teacher to join the strong support staff network of the school and push students to reach their potential.
During your time within these roles, you will be expected to plan, prepare and deliver fun and engaging lessons and activities for your pupils and prepare them to enter KS2. You will be required to mark and assess pupil work, amending the work when needed to suit different abilities. This could be an exciting opportunity for an ECT to lead their own diverse KS1 class. You should ideally possess recent experience working in KS1 and should be comfortable supporting SEN children in the class. You will want to strive for academic growth for the children in your class and be confident in managing challenging behaviour to keep pupils on track.
