Hays Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil within a friendly and supportive primary school in the Walsall area. This is a long-term position with the potential for continued opportunities.

Your New Role

You will be working on a 1:1 basis with a child in Year 5, supporting them both academically and socially. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the pupil within the classroom environment
  • Simplifying work and breaking tasks down to make learning more accessible
  • Encouraging the development of social skills and positive interaction with the children
  • Following the class teacher’s direction to help the pupil engage confidently in lessons
  • Providing calm, consistent support throughout the school day

The pupil does not present with SEN or behavioural needs but requires additional guidance to stay focused, build confidence, and make academic progress.

  • A minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
