We are looking to appoint an experienced and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 4 with Autism and Global Developmental Delay.

The child is currently working at an EYFS/Key Stage 1 level and has an EHCP in place.

This is a rewarding opportunity for apassionate and patient Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting children with additional needs on a one-to-one basis.

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will play a key role in helping the child access learning, develop independence and make progress against their individual targets.

The role

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child with Autism and Global Developmental Delay.
  • Supporting learning activities that are tailored to the child's individual needs and abilities.
  • Implementing strategies and targets outlined within the EHCP.
  • Encouragingmunication, social development and independence.
  • Supporting the child's emotional wellbeing and engagement within the classroom.
  • Liaising regularly with the SENCO, class teacher and other professionals involved in the child's support.
  • Monitoring progress and contributing to reviews and support plans.
  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or a relevant EYFS qualification.
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN on a 1:1 basis.
  • Strong understanding of Autism and supporting children withplex learning needs.
  • Experience supporting children working significantly below age-related expectations.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and how to implement targeted support strategies.
  • A nurturing, patient and flexible approach.
  • Excellentmunication and teamwork skills.
