This isn’t just a sales role; it’s an opportunity to shape a market, build deep OEM relationships, and be part of an engineering-led business that launches 10–20 new products every year.
The Freedom to Build and Lead a Market
This is a home-based, field-focused role with UK travel. You’ll carry out in-person OEM visits, targeting design, R&D and engineering decision makers. Your objective is to open doors, generate new conversations, build relationships, influence designs, and ultimately win customised, engineered solutions for major UK OEMs.
You won’t be alone. When technical complexity deepens, you’ll have full support from Applications Engineers in France and Germany, specialists who regularly travel to the UK to support you onsite. You’ll also attend and exhibit at major UK trade shows, giving you visibility and reach across your market.
Why this role?
In this position, you’ll experience true consultative selling, influencing early stage designs and embedding your solution into customer prototypes, securing long-term, recurring business. You’ll also have genuine visibility. With just one existing UK Sales Engineer, your contribution will be immediately seen and valued at European leadership level. As UK momentum builds, the company intends to expand its footprint here, meaning long‑term progression is wide open.
Enjoy the stability and manufacturing power of a global engineering group, combined with the agility, speed, and friendliness of a small UK team. You will also visit HQ in France 3–4 times per year, where the entire team speaks English, and you’ll connect closely with R&D, product development and leadership.
What You Bring
You likely come from a mechanical engineering background or have sold technical components or systems to OEMs, specialist vehicle, industrial, or transport sectors. You enjoy being in factories, around machinery, and inside design meetings.
Most importantly: You have energy. You have hunger. You have the will to succeed. You are a hunter who can open doors, nurture leads, and build relationships over time. You enjoy the long game of project-based selling, and you know that winning the trust of a Design Engineer is worth more than a hundred one‑off orders.
Onboarding & Technical Training
You’ll receive a structured technical induction, delivered via:
- Weekly training (2–3 hours/week)
- Hybrid sessions via Teams
- In-person sessions in France with the engineering team
During the first few months, you’ll take 2–3 short European trips for deeper product and manufacturing immersion.
If you’re ready to take ownership of a market, shape bespoke solutions and work with customers who value real engineering thinking, let’s talk.
