Hays are working exclusively with a dynamic and growing business who are seeking an experienced Finance Administrator / Credit Controller / Sales Ledger Clerk to join their team based in Telford. This position will start on a temporary basis, with a strong likelihood of being a permanent role for the right candidate.
You will work within the Finance team and closely with the senior credit controller with duties including:
- Processing bank receipts to the Sage accounting system in a timely and organised manner.
- Chasing overdue invoices via phone and email, maintaining accurate notes of correspondence.
- Managing and resolving customer queries, liaising with internal departments where necessary to investigate and resolve in a timely and organised manner to ensure customer satisfaction with service.
- Raising customer invoices, including checking nominal codes, to the Sage accounting system.
- Raising customer credit notes, including checking nominal codes, to the Sage accounting system.
- Updating internal Information Management System (IMS) with Sage invoice numbers.
- Saving customer invoices accurately within shared project folders.
- Assisting with audit requests.
- Assisting with any ad-hoc requests and tasks.
You should have solid experience in credit control and sales ledger work, with the ability to operate confidently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential. You’ll also need excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with customers, resolve queries, and manage issues effectively. Good IT skills and the confidence to use financial systems and Microsoft Office applications are also important for success in this role.
