Hays is delighted to be supporting a secondary school in central Wiltshire in the recruitment of a full‑time Teacher of Food Technology for a long‑term temporary role, starting after the Easter holidays. There is potential for this position to be permanent for the right candidate. The school is a high‑achieving 11–16 comprehensive secondary school with a strong reputation within the local community. It provides a calm, well‑ordered learning environment where students are supported to achieve high standards both academically and personally. As part of a well‑established multi‑academy trust, the school benefits from shared expertise, high‑quality professional development and strong collaboration across schools. As a Teacher of Food Technology, you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and practical lessons that develop students’ technical skills, creativity and subject knowledge. At KS3, you will be part of a rotating Design & Technology curriculum, while at KS4 you will contribute to the delivery of GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition. You will plan and deliver well‑structured lessons, assess and monitor student progress, and contribute to the development of schemes of learning alongside a collaborative and supportive DT faculty. Maintaining high expectations, ensuring safe working practices and fostering a positive learning environment will be key aspects of the role. The post may also include Form Tutor responsibilities and participation in the wider life of the school.

You will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have the right to work in the UK. An Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one, is required in line with safeguarding requirements. You should have experience teaching Food Technology or Food Preparation and Nutrition at secondary level, with strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage students of all abilities. You will be an organised and reflective practitioner, confident in managing practical lessons and committed to high standards of teaching and learning.
