Design Engineer required to lead and coordinate the delivery of highway design projects. This role involves managing multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as lead for coordinating design deliverables to achieve project outcomes.
- Perform technical design checks and ensure compliance with standards.
- Deliver projects to agreed time, cost, and quality expectations.
- Plan resources and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, including sub-consultants.
- Ensure adherence to internal quality processes and Health & Safety legislation.
- Manage and develop staff, including training, mentoring, and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with clients to understand and deliver project objectives.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Chartered Engineer or experienced Engineer working towards CEng.
- Proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary projects to meet programme, cost, and quality targets.
- Extensive highways design and construction experience, including design software review.
- Strong commercial awareness in project delivery.
- In-depth knowledge of Local Authority design standards and contracts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and design software (AutoCAD, drainage, alignment tools).
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and highway design guidance.
