As a Personal Tax Senior, you’ll play a key role in supporting the partners and tax team in managing a portfolio of personal tax clients. You’ll be responsible for:
- Preparing self-assessment tax returns and computations for a wide variety of clients
- Managing filing deadlines and supporting clients with queries
- Maintaining excellent client relationships and acting as a regular point of contact
- Assisting with ad hoc advisory work, HMRC enquiries, and disclosures
- Supporting the transition to Making Tax Digital for sole traders and landlords
- Promoting the firm’s services and identifying opportunities to introduce new clients
- Mentoring junior team members and contributing to their development
You’ll work closely with partners and colleagues, contributing to the delivery of high-quality tax planning and compliance services.
At least 3 years’ experience in a personal tax role within a firm of Chartered Accountants is required, along with:
- ATT, ACCA/ACA part-qualified/qualified, or QBE with relevant experience
- Strong technical knowledge of personal taxation
- Excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and confidence in client-facing situations
- Ability to supervise and coach junior team members
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Familiarity with IRIS Practice Suite or CCH (preferred but not essential)
- Awareness of Making Tax Digital and its implications for clients
