Your new company: Hays are working with Chartered Accountants to recruit a Management Accountant to join their team in Shrewsbury.
Your new role:
- Monthly management accounts: Prepare accurate, timely management accounts packs (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis) in line with client timetables.
- Budgeting & forecasting.
- Month-end close: Oversee postings, accruals/prepayments, fixed assets, stock, WIP, intercompany, balance sheet reconciliations; resolve reconciling items promptly.
- VAT compliance support.
- Client liaison: Act as the trusted finance contact; present results and insights to owners/boards; manage deliverables and expectations.
- Year-end & audit support: Prepare year-end packs, lead schedules, audit support, and liaison with internal/external auditors.
- Ad-hoc analysis: Pricing, margin and customer profitability analysis, cost-saving initiatives, cash management strategies.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience, with or without practice experience.
- Good systems experience as well as a meticulous and deadline-focused approach.
- You should be client-facing, credible speaking to clients and stakeholders and able to challenge constructively and build trust quickly.
