Role Overview
As a supply teacher, you will be teaching in a variety of schools across the city, providing cover on a day-to-day basis in the absence of the usual class teacher. EYFS, KS1 and KS2, our schools require staff who are familiar with different year groups and can deliver pre-planned work to classes, whilst ensuring learning opportunities are enhanced, potential is fulfilled and pupils feel supported, listened to and inspired.
Location Sheffield (on-site)
Salary £120 + per day (depending on experience)
Hours Monday to Friday. Term time only
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-planned lessons to the class
- Lead enriching activities that promote creativity and discovery
- Manage behaviour positively in line with the school's policies
- Ensure students stay on task and complete assigned work
- Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health & safety
- Liaise with parents, school staff, and external agencies
- Record student progress and report any concerns to school staff
- Leave feedback for the regular teacher about the day’s activities and student behaviour
Requirements
- QTS or be an ECT working towards this
- Minimum 20 days of experience working with young people within the last 2 years
- Ideally holds a DBS registered on the Update Service (we can support a new application if needed)
- A warm, energetic personality that children gravitate toward
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and team support
- A genuine passion for creating joyful, safe spaces for children
