Your new company is a well-established business looking to add an assistant management accountant to their team on an interim basis. You will be working directly with the management accountant, finance manager, and finance director.
As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function with the preparation of financial reports, analysis, and month-end processes. This position is ideal for someone studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA) and looking to develop their career as a management accountant.
Your new role:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Prepare journal entries including accruals and prepayments
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
- Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
- Liaise with internal departments to gather financial data
- Support year-end processes and external audits
- Analyse cost and revenue trends to support decision-making
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls
What you'll need to succeed:
- Part-qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (Sage, SAP, Oracle)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and analytical skills
