We are supporting a successful, growing accountancy firm with an interesting and varied client base who are seeking to further grow their accounts team. Our client is keen to recruit a diligent, technically capable individual with great communication skills to efficiently manage a client portfolio alongside supporting more junior colleagues, ensuring workflow is managed effectively within the team.
As a Senior Accounts Associate within this firm, you will prepare statutory accounts for limited companies and consolidated accounts for SMEs whilst also building, maintaining and developing excellent client relationships through regular contact and excellent service levels. You will also prepare CT returns and will review VAT returns. You'll take on more complex work within the client portfolio and will assist more junior colleagues/support managers with planning workload.
To be considered for this role, you will possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in a UK accountancy practice, preparing accounts for sole traders and SME clients and using a range of systems – particularly a strong knowledge of Xero. You will have good technical accounting acumen and will be able to demonstrate that you know your way around a set of accounts – this will be tested at interview. Relevant accounting qualifications (AAT/part ACCA etc.) would be preferable.
