Your new role

As a Level 2 (or above) qualified General Teaching Assistant, you’ll be able to support a KS1 child working alongside the teacher to help manage daily routines and learning activities. You may assist small groups of children, but mainly 1 to 1 teaching with a SEND child with tasks or provide general support, as well as being able to modify challenging behaviour by creating a positive and engaging learning environment. This is a flexible and rewarding role where your contribution makes a real difference every day.

What you’ll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you’ll need to be Level 2 qualified or above in childcare or education, with a proactive and supportive attitude. You should be confident working with children with different abilities, helping a child with tasks and classroom routines. Strong communication, patience, and the ability to follow the teacher's directions are key. A genuine passion for education and a flexible approach will help you make a positive impact every day.
