Hays have been working with a secondary school located in Preston for a number of years. We have supplied both teachers and TAs to this school on a regular basis. They are now looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis starting January 2026. This is a school that strives for excellence in all areas of learning, and so they are looking for a committed individual to join the team and provide the right support. It is a very special place where each child is encouraged to reach their full potential, both academically and personally.
This role will be working on a full-time basis and will involve working on a 1:1 basis with a child in KS3 with mild SEND needs. You will be responsible for learning the specific needs of the child and making sure you provide the correct support, to help push this child to reach their potential. You must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the pupils as they work and work closely with the teacher to ensure that all work set is delivered and planned in line with pupil ability. You will need to be fully committed to the role and be ready to give it 100%.
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess recent experience working with children and ideally, previous experience supporting SEND children. You should feel confident working with children in a 1:1 setting as well as being friendly and enthusiastic. You will need to be available to start as soon as possible and continue through until summer.
In return, you will be paid a highly competitive daily rate and will be working in this successful school where you will be an integral part of a welcoming team of TAs. You will therefore have the opportunity to further develop your own teaching assistant skills and experience.
