A leading civil engineering contractor is looking for an Estimator to join their growing team in Preston. With a strong pipeline of work and projects typically ranging from £500k to £20m, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a supportive, award‑winning business that genuinely invests in its people.
The Role
- Analyse tender information and assess construction methods, risks and opportunities
- Price civil engineering works from first principles (earthworks, drainage, ducting, paving)
- Prepare construction programmes/sequencing (ASTA training available)
- Manage subcontract enquiries and evaluate supply chain responses
- Coordinate bid inputs and contribute to winning tender strategies
- Ensure timely, compliant tender submissions
About You
- Strong estimating experience within civil engineering
- Ability to measure quantities, set bills and work independently
- Understanding of bid writing and building competitive quotations
- Knowledge of Conquest desirable
- Good communication skills and confidence working to deadlines
- Transferable construction estimating experience also considered.
