A large, established not‑for‑profit organisation in the South West is seeking to expand its finance team with the addition of a Management Accounts–focused finance professional. The organisation operates within a regulated environment, delivering essential services to local communities and placing strong emphasis on financial governance, value for money, and social impact. You will join the finance function in an Assistant Management Accountant capacity, playing a key role in supporting managers and operational teams with budget monitoring and high‑quality financial reporting. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and supporting monthly management accounts
  • Providing financial analysis and insight to budget holders
  • Monitoring, managing and reporting on budgets
  • Supporting month‑end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Producing clear, accurate financial reports for internal stakeholders
  • Working closely with non‑finance teams to promote value for money
  • Supporting audit processes and financial compliance
  • Contributing to continuous improvement within the finance function

This role is well suited to someone who enjoys translating financial data into meaningful insight and working collaboratively across an organisation.

Experience in a management accounts, finance officer or financial reporting role is required, along with the ability to manage your own workload while working to multiple deadlines. Strong attention to detail with good analytical skills, confident IT skills including strong Excel capability, and experience using finance systems are essential. A proactive and collaborative approach to problem‑solving is necessary. Experience in a not‑for‑profit, housing, public sector or regulated environment is beneficial, but not essential.
