Your new company Hays are working with a local Mechanical & Electrical Services contractor who have been in business for over 50 years. This firm have been providing their M&E expertise on installation and maintenance to a broad client base across the UK and Ireland. In recent years they have developed their Facilities Maintenance offering to complement their installation and aftercare on larger projects, which has allowed them to gain a strong reputation on small works projects, reactive and planned maintenance and win new business.
Your new role This is a permanent position reporting to the Head of Electrical MTC. As the FM division have client sites located all over Northern Ireland you will have the choice to base yourself from whichever office suits you best while also availing of the option to work from home whenever necessary. As a Contract Manager for Electrical works, you will be focused on Measured Term Contracts, primarily small works projects for a broad range of clients in the public sector.
Some of the main duties will include:
- Ensuring projects / contractual requirements are delivered on time and within budget.
- Procurement of relevant plant, materials and Sub-Contractor packages.
- Responsible for the project team, staff management, control of labour and their coordination.
- Meeting with clients on a regular basis.
- Liaise with the Client and Contractor on the project delivery.
- Ordering and managing products / machinery for site.

What you'll need to succeed Applicants must either have an Electrical Engineering related degree, HND/C or be a Time-Served Electrician. Previous experience in a similar role. PC literate with competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Health and Safety Knowledge. Attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work under pressure. Strong interpersonal and organisational skills. Excellent communication skills. Self-motivated, with a ‘can-do’ approach to work and a willingness to learn and assist. Organised and disciplined in your planning and approach to work. Work well and confidently as part of a team in a busy environment. You must have a full UK driving licence.
