Your new company Hays Specialist Recruitment are working with our client, Ards & North Down Borough Council to source a Town Planner for a contract vacancy based in Newtownards.
This is a 12-24 month contract to cover a secondment period. Based from Ards & North Down BC’s office in Newtownards, you will work alongside an experienced team of Planning professionals while being supported and managed by the Service Unit Manager for Development Management.
The main purpose of the role is processing of planning applications, primarily householder/residential extensions, advertisement consents, listed building consents, non-material change applications and discharge of conditions applications. A full job description can be provided.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- A degree and minimum of 6 months experience working in a planning environment.
- OR An HNC or equivalent qualification is held and a minimum of two years’ experience working in a planning environment.
- AND Experience in the preparation and presentation of planning application reports in relation to development and enforcement planning matters.
