We are seeking an experienced and qualified EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newton Le Willows starting in January. As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of all children. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the EYFS curriculum.
- Supporting children’s learning through play-based and structured activities.
- Observing and recording children’s progress, contributing to assessments and reports.
- Providing one-to-one and small group interventions for children who need additional support.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting social and emotional development.
- Preparing and maintaining learning resources and displays.
- Supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times.
- Supporting children with personal care needs, including toileting, changing, and hygiene routines.
- Assisting with snack and meal times, promoting healthy eating habits.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other staff to create a nurturing environment.
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding and health & safety policies.
- Helping with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities.
- Supporting children with additional needs, including those with SEN.
- Contributing to creating a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
What you'll need to succeed:
- EYFS qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years Education or equivalent).
- Previous experience working in an EYFS setting within a school or nursery.
- Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding practices.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for early years education.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one.
- Full right to work in the UK.
