This opportunity is being offered on a Fixed Term Contract basis for six months, to cover a secondment.
As the Interim Communications Manager, you will lead the planning and delivery of strategic communications, events, and stakeholder engagement across all channels. Reporting to the Communications Director and senior leadership team, you will develop thought leadership programmes, create compelling content, and manage key relationships with internal teams, external partners, and media. You will also manage a small team and manage agency resources to ensure impactful campaigns that align with organisational objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering integrated communications strategies and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Driving thought leadership initiatives to position the organisation as a leader in its field.
- Managing budgets and outsourced communications resources effectively.
- Line managing the Communications and Events Officer and Digital Communications Officer.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- A proven track record as a Marketing and Communications Manager.
- Strong experience creating impactful content and engagement activities within a technology-driven environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and deliver high-quality outputs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in engaging senior stakeholders.
- Degree-level qualification in marketing or equivalent.
- A collaborative mindset, flexibility, and the ability to lead and inspire a team.
This position is offered as a six-month Fixed Term Contract, to cover a secondment. Annual salary of £64,845 plus a range of benefits including (but not limited to) 36 days annual leave (pro rata'd), private medical insurance, pension and life assurance. Hybrid / flexible working arrangements are on offer. 2 days per week, on-site can be based at either Newport or Bristol.
