Our client is a highly-regarded global defendant firm with offices across the UK. They are currently recruiting for an associate or senior associate with a minimum of 5 years of qualified experience to join their high-performing property damage team in Manchester. This is a hybrid role and a very competitive salary and bonus is available and negotiable dependent on experience.
This Property Damage role will see you:
- Handle a diverse caseload of property damage claims, including fire, flood, subsidence, and escape of water/oil.
- Advise insurer clients on complex product liability matters, including defective goods, manufacturing faults, and supply chain risks.
- Advise on policy coverage matters.
- Provide clear, strategic guidance on policy coverage issues across commercial and domestic insurance lines.
- Conduct liability investigations and quantum assessments, instructing experts where necessary.
- Represent clients in pre-action protocols, ADR processes, and court proceedings.
- Liaise directly with insurer clients, loss adjusters, and third-party solicitors to progress claims efficiently.
- Supervise and support junior team members, contributing to their development and quality assurance.
- Maintain accurate case management records and ensure compliance with client SLAs and regulatory standards.
- Participate in client training, thought leadership, and business development initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed:
- You must be a qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with a minimum of 5 years post-qualified experience in a similar property damage role.
- You must have proven experience handling higher-value property damage claims, including fire, flood, subsidence and escape of water/oil.
- Applicants must have strong knowledge and/or previous experience handling product liability and policy coverage claims.
- Experience supervising junior team members is advantageous.
- You must be commercially aware and be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver pragmatic, client-focused advice.
