We have an exciting opportunity for a Homeless Support Officer to join the team of a well-known housing association in South Manchester. This is a full-time role on a rolling 6-week rota with the following shifts – 8am-4pm, 10am-5:30pm or 2pm–10pm and 1 in 6 weekends: Sat/Sun 9am–7pm. There is potential for this role to go temp to perm after an initial period of 3 months, looking to start as soon as possible. Must have an enhanced DBS and be comfortable with lone working where required.
Your new role:
- Support residents in temporary accommodation including self-contained flats and HMO properties.
- Manage a caseload of 8–12 cases, providing tailored support to help them move toward independent living.
- Work both onsite and offsite, including lone-working responsibilities.
- Handle duty days, responding to inbound queries and managing any issues that arise within the scheme.
- Oversee voids, move-ins, and move-on support from temporary accommodation.
- Maintain accurate records, ensure safeguarding procedures are followed, and contribute to a safe, supportive environment.
- Work collaboratively within a team, sharing information and supporting colleagues when needed.
