Our client is a renowned defendant firm with offices across the UK. They are currently recruiting for an EL/PL Lawyer to join on a hybrid basis.
This Defendant EL/PL Lawyer role will see you handle a varied caseload of employer liability and public liability claims valued up to £100K. Cases are generally handled on a non‑delegated authority basis.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess primary and secondary liability in EL/PL claims.
- Work in accordance with client SLAs, producing initial reviews and setting case strategy.
- Review evidence including witness statements, medical and occupational health records, and inspection reports.
- Conduct disclosure, investigations, CMCs and applications.
- Instruct counsel, investigators and medical experts; prepare questions for medical experts.
- Prepare costs schedules, counter schedules, pre‑trial reports and trial bundles.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practice throughout.
- Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive.
- Proven experience managing a caseload of defendant EL/PL files with previous litigation experience.
- Strong advocacy, communication and client‑care skills; able to operate to client guidelines.
- Ability to prioritise, work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain high analytical accuracy.
- Decision‑making capability, resilience, and strong IT proficiency.
