My client is a very well established environmental consultancy who have 80 - 90 specialist staff in Ecology, Arboriculture, GIS and Climate change. They have multiple hubs across the country but are open to Ecologists across the UK as they have huge amounts of work nationwide. They are looking for candidates of varying levels from Consultant to Principal. Their main focus at this time is in Bat surveys and Botany; however, they are soon expected to increase their workload in climate change and Habitat Management. They are an Employee-Owned trust in which employees have a stake in the business and receive an annual bonus. Their training is excellent as they have exceptional equipment/facilities and allow their staff to shadow selected surveys to gain more experience in a desired area.

Your work will contribute to the running of a successful consultancy, including but not limited to:

  • Completing tenders, managing projects and building relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Managing large and complex ecological projects, ensuring efficient delivery.
  • Leading on technical aspects such as EPSL applications, EcIA chapters and habitat regulation assessments.
  • Producing high quality deliverables for clients.
  • Documenting relevant experience (for protected species licenses).
  • Supporting and providing leadership to junior members of staff.
  • Managing survey work by leading the field team.
  • Effectively communicating to ensure project success.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • A degree in Environmental Management or relevant subject.
  • Experience with Ecological surveying and reporting.
  • Relevant legislation knowledge.
  • Protected species licences (preferred).
  • Full UK driving licence.
