I'm working with a global bank who are looking to recruit a VP to run the small in-house tax team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Review and update the Bank’s tax policy and strategy for Board/Executive Management approval
- Ensure compliance with the Bank’s tax policy and strategy
- Review/oversight of existing governance arrangements with respect to tax risk
- Further develop the tax risk register
- Manage the Bank’s tax reporting and compliance, dealing with auditors and local tax authorities including tax disclosures for the UK Subsidiary’s financial statements
- Manage the timely delivery of UK tax computations, including the branch capital attribution calculation
- Manage the calculation of tax payments on account
- Review and approve monthly tax calculations, take ownership of the balance sheet tax accounts
- Manage VAT compliance, ensuring timely submission of accurate VAT returns
- Review and approve the annual bank levy calculation
- Responsible for the annual DPT assessment
- Miscellaneous taxes - ATED, SDLT, CIS
- Ongoing review and consideration as to the reasonableness of current PESM
- Ongoing review and assessment of Transfer Pricing Risks and documentation of the methodology
- Main point of contact for transaction-related tax considerations and for external tax advisors
- Provide assistance with PAYE related issues
- Manage and mentor the tax reporting team
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Degree educated in Finance, Accounting, or other equivalent
- Qualified tax professional or accounting qualification with solid experience in the financial services sector
- Extensive experience of corporate taxes
- Experience of VAT/PESM is a plus
- Extensive experience of providing internal advisory to business lines
- Extensive experience of transfer pricing UK/UK and UK/International
- Experience of Regional/International Group Function
- Experience in managing a team
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
