A dynamic and forward-thinking insurance group is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join its London-based finance team. This is a pivotal role focused on embedding key reporting changes, providing technical and commercial guidance, and ensuring compliance with evolving accounting standards in a complex reporting environment. You’ll be instrumental in driving continuous improvement across reporting processes, maintaining robust controls, and supporting statutory and regulatory deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical reviews of statutory and regulatory reporting (Annual Reports, Solvency II, Lloyd’s, NAIC, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS, Lloyd’s, and Solvency II
- Produce technical accounting papers and evaluate the financial reporting impacts of significant transactions
- Act as the primary finance contact for projects and change initiatives
- Prepare and review Board and Audit committee papers
- Support financial statement disclosures and complex journal entries
- Provide quarterly training and respond to regulator queries
- Assist with tax compliance and finance controls documentation
What you’ll need to succeed
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS, Lloyd’s, and Solvency II
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and handling complex data sets
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Analytical mindset with strong reconciliation abilities
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and solve problems independently
