I have partnered with a leading international law firm based in the City of London who are looking to bring on an experienced legal cashier to join their busy finance team. This role will be reporting to the Head Cashier with a mix of both client and office accounts. The cashiering team handle high volumes and the ideal candidate will therefore work on a variety of different tasks on a daily basis.

Detailed knowledge of, and experience working with, the SRA Accounts Rules is essential, whilst experience with Elite Enterprise and/or Elite 3E is desirable.

Your new role:

  • Process client and office payments, including CHAPS, BACS, and international transfers, via the firm’s online banking platforms.
  • Ensure accurate postings to the current Practice Management System (3E).
  • Identify and allocate electronic receipts in multiple currencies to client and office accounts promptly and accurately, ensuring compliance with SRA rules when client funds are received into office accounts.
  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of client and office bank accounts.
  • Allocate Direct Debits and ad hoc office payments within 3E.
  • Investigate and clear items temporarily posted to suspense ledgers promptly.
  • Manage weekly cheque banking for both client and office accounts.
  • Assist in calculating quarterly and closing interest on client account balances.
  • Ensure timely and accurate postings for treasury instruments.
  • Liaise with banks regarding the opening and closing of fixed-term deposit accounts.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • At least 5 years experience in client or office cashiering.
  • Exceptional knowledge of, and experience with, the SRA accounts rules.
  • Experience with 3E is desirable.
