We are recruiting on behalf of a leading London-based higher education institution for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Tradesperson to join their Estates and Campus Services team. This is a hands-on role focused on the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of mechanical systems across a dynamic academic campus. You’ll work closely with the Estates Helpdesk and Maintenance Manager, responding to reactive issues and supporting planned preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs across campus buildings
- Service and inspect HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, valves, and pipework
- Respond to breakdowns and complete remedial works independently
- Utilise the institution’s Building Management System (TREND) to identify and resolve faults
- Maintain accurate records using the CAFM system
- Liaise with contractors and ensure high standards of work
- Support minor plumbing tasks and ensure workshop cleanliness and stock control
- Recognised mechanical qualification (minimum Level 2 NVQ / City & Guilds)
- Experience in building services or facilities maintenance
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
