I am working with a leading construction/asset management business looking for a Head of Capex to join the London team in a global role.
As Head of Capex, you will take ownership of the company’s capital investment portfolio, ensuring that all major projects are effectively prioritised, justified and executed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing the multi-year capital investment strategy, aligned to commercial growth and asset lifecycle priorities
- Leading the annual capex planning process, including scenario modelling and portfolio optimisation
- Managing governance across all investment activity, ensuring clear processes, approval discipline and financial transparency
- Evaluating business cases for fleet acquisition, refurbishment programmes, depot upgrades and technology improvements
- Overseeing project delivery performance, ensuring investments are completed on time, on budget and to specification
- Working closely with Operations, Asset Management, Finance and Procurement to balance capacity, quality and ROI
- Driving continuous improvement in fleet utilisation, lifecycle optimisation, standardisation and sustainability outcomes
This is a visible, commercially impactful role with regular interaction at executive level.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Extensive experience managing capex programmes in an asset-intensive environment (modular buildings, construction, rental, engineering, logistics, equipment or similar)
- Strong financial modelling skills and understanding of ROI, NPV, IRR and portfolio analysis
- Proven capability in capital planning, governance, and large-scale project oversight
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate confidently at Board and Executive level
- A strategic mindset combined with hands-on delivery focus
