As Senior Procurement Officer, you will take the lead on exciting procurement projects and negotiations, ensuring high standards of supplier performance and value for money. You’ll support and shape sourcing strategies that reflect core sustainability principles, use data to guide decision-making, and identify ways to enhance processes and systems. Additionally, you’ll provide guidance and leadership within the procurement team, helping drive continuous improvement and maintaining momentum on key initiatives. You will also deputise in the Procurement Manager's absence, so it’s a great developmental opportunity.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Previous experience in public-sector procurement, including sourcing, contract management, and supplier engagement
- CIPS qualification or equivalent, with a solid understanding of public procurement regulations (the new PA23) and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to driving improvements
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Confidence in using digital tools and systems to support procurement activities
