Hays Education is working with a large secondary school based in Sefton, LA who are looking for a caretaker to join their team asap. Covering sickness within the team, this job will be for a minimum of 3 months, although it could be extended beyond that. If you work in the building industry and want to gain experience specifically within a school setting, then this could be the ideal job for you.

Reporting to the school site manager, this school caretaker job is full time, Monday–Friday during term time. Hours are 7–3.

Key duties for this school caretaker job include:

  • Opening the school site in the morning
  • Ensuring the premises (building and grounds) remain clean, safe and secure
  • Manage general cleaning and handyperson activities as required
  • Portage duties ensuring rooms are set up and fit for purpose
  • Carry out safety checks as directed by the site manager

For this role, prior experience as a keyholder would be an advantage. You will be comfortable taking on minor repairs independently and cleaning/maintaining both the building and grounds. You will be confident in carrying out regular safety checks, and promoting health and safety around the school.

Placement in this job will be dependent on completing an enhanced DBS check.
