Your new company Hays are partnered with a reputable public-sector organisation in the heart of Liverpool to recruit an experienced procurement professional into their team to support with busy workloads. The role is anticipated to last for 6 months and offers flexible & hybrid working practices, with only 1-2 days per week required in the office.
The Procurement Officer will support the wider team with day-to-day tendering activities, across a broad range of category areas. You will work closely with key stakeholders across the organisation to establish requirements and you will decide on the most appropriate route to market, whether that's purchasing through frameworks or conducting full open market tenders. As Procurement Officer, you will provide procurement advice and guidance to stakeholders and ensure that value for money is delivered whilst adhering to procurement regulations. You will manage contract performance with suppliers and will ensure compliance with the organisation's governance processes.
Please note this is NOT a senior level strategic role; you will play a key role in delivering hands-on tendering activity, so you must have strong experience of this.
What you'll need to succeed:
- A proven background in public-sector procurement with a detailed working knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23)
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Contract management and supplier relationship management skills
- Ability to independently run end-to-end tender processes which comply with PA23, with recent experience in doing so
- Able to commute to the Liverpool office 2 days per week (some weeks will only require 1 day in the office)
