Hays Construction are recruiting for a well-known and highly reputable Construction Contractor based in Merseyside. We are looking for a motivated and highly ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with 2–3 years of post-graduate experience to develop their skills and grow within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
- Support the preparation of tender documents and contracts
- Monitor project progress and ensure costs are kept within budget
- Collaborate with the Senior QS / Commercial Manager, Project Managers, Site Teams and all external stakeholders involved in the project
- Prepare and submit regular reports on project financials, manage costs, variations and valuations
Requirements:
- Ideally, a Quantity Surveying degree
- 2–3 years of post-graduate experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, cost estimating software)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider commercial team
- You must be highly ambitious and want to drive your career forward within Quantity Surveying
