As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take the lead on mechanical design delivery across a range of projects. You will be responsible for producing and overseeing calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports, while ensuring design quality, programme and client expectations are met. You will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, represent the consultancy in meetings, guide junior engineers, and contribute to project strategy and decision‑making. You’ll also support the integration of low‑carbon and renewable technologies, assist with site inspections, and help maintain high technical standards across the mechanical discipline.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- A degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
- A strong background in mechanical building services design at senior level
- Proficiency in relevant design tools including Revit, Amtech, Relux/Dialux and Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidelines
- Experience incorporating low‑carbon, renewable and energy‑efficient solutions
- Awareness of BREEAM and sustainable design principles
- Understanding of electrical interfaces to ensure coordinated design
- Professional membership (CIBSE or IMechE) or active progression toward it
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage clients, contractors and partners effectively
