Hays Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Plumber / Multi Trade Operative to join a well-established contractor delivering responsive maintenance services to social housing properties across the East Midlands. This role focuses exclusively on occupied properties, carrying out day-to-day reactive repairs and maintenance. It is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking for long-term work, with the successful candidate initially joining on a temporary basis with the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful period.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out plumbing repairs and maintenance within occupied residential properties.
- Diagnosing and repairing faults on domestic plumbing systems.
- Repairs and replacement of taps, toilets, baths, sinks, showers and associated pipework.
- Carrying out minor multi-trade works where required, including basic carpentry, patch plastering, tiling and other associated repairs.
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard on a first-time fix basis.
- Working safely within customers' homes whilst delivering excellent customer service.
- Using handheld technology to manage and complete jobs.
Requirements
- To be considered, you will ideally have: NVQ Level 2 Plumbing (minimum requirement).
- Experience carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance works.
- Previous social housing maintenance experience preferred.
- Multi-trade experience alongside core plumbing skills.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
- Asbestos Awareness.
- Experience working within occupied social housing properties.
- Skills in basic carpentry, tiling, plastering or other maintenance trades.
