Our client is an Environmental Consultancy based in Leeds and Manchester who were established in 2007. They offer a range of specialist environmental services to public and private sector organisations across the UK. They are looking for someone to support them with their mission to improve sustainability in the UK, supporting various clients to develop their sustainability credentials and to minimise their impact on the environment.
As an environmental planner, you will be responsible for:
- Lead the preparation and coordination of planning applications and environmental consents for a range of projects.
- Identify project-specific planning requirements, outputs, and timescales.
- Ensure all planning activities comply with relevant legislation and professional standards.
- Provide specialist advice on environmental planning issues, including policy interpretation and regulatory compliance.
- Review technical reports, assessments, and planning documentation prior to submission.
- Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to agree planning strategies and resolve issues.
- Represent the consultancy at meetings, hearings, and public consultations as required.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in environmental planning, including experience in consultancy or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of UK planning legislation and environmental policy.
- Strong understanding of planning regulations and environmental consent processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement and negotiation.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
