Your new company Hays is partnering with a quickly-growing national firm of chartered accountants to hire for the position of Corporate Tax Assistant Manager/Manager. The firm provides services such as accountancy, business advisory, audit, corporate finance, and taxation. Your new role:

  • Oversee client portfolios to ensure timely preparation and submission of Corporate Tax Returns and reputations to HMRC.
  • Advise clients on their tax liabilities and payment due dates.
  • Ensure all claims and elections are submitted within the required time limits.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce tax liabilities and collaborate with Partners and Directors to implement these strategies.
  • Manage Work in Progress (WIP) for client portfolios, ensuring fees are raised and issued upon completion.
  • Maintain effective time management to achieve good recovery rates and ensure time is appropriately charged to clients.
  • Meet with prospective clients to discuss their tax affairs and provide guidance.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Qualified to ICAS / CTA or an equivalent level.
  • Apply technical skills to provide client solutions, understanding the tax system, and being aware of due dates for annual tax returns, computers, and tax payments.
  • Proactively identify legislative changes and understand their impact on the client base.
  • Ensure the application of the firm’s technical standards in all work.
  • Regularly review colleagues' work for technical accuracy.
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge through appropriate training.
  • Seek advice when necessary to minimise risk.
