A public sector organisation offers a part-time Interim Governance and Assurance support opportunity on a hybrid basis (1 day a week in the office in the South of London area and 2 days working from home).
Interim part-time assignment up to 6 months duration - 3 days a week. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating and supporting board members with Governance and Assurance advice and administrative support. You will ensure the effective delivery of the internal audit plan, maintaining strong relationships with internal auditors, and overseeing planning for the audit cycle. This will include monitoring and following up on audit actions, ensuring timely completion and submission of updates to the Senior Management and Audit and Risk Committee. You will lead on gathering data from multiple sources and prepare reports for publication on the organisation's website. You will also prepare agendas, take accurate minutes, and circulate relevant papers in a timely manner.
Preferred start date: 16th Feb 2026 or before!
What you'll need to succeed:
- You will need to be available at short notice ā ideally to start on 16th February.
- You will have strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce accurate documentation including minutes, reports, and agendas.
- You will have proven experience in governance, audit coordination, compliance, or related roles.
- You will have experience in a public sector organisation.
- A DBS check will be required for this role.
What you'll get in return:
- Interim assignment up to 6 months duration to start 16th Feb 2026.
- Part-time ā 3 days a week.
- Hybrid working (1 day a week in the office in the South of London area ā ideally Mondays, but can be flexible).
- Parking available.
- Pay rate ā dependent on relevant experience cĀ£300-370 per day. (in scope of IR35 and via an umbrella company).
