A lovely nursery in Brighton is looking for a new Level 3 qualified practitioner to join their close, supportive team. The nursery staff are passionate about children's development and encourage self-development within the team. It is a bilingual nursery, providing the opportunity to learn Spanish with qualified Spanish teachers. The environment has been carefully developed to inspire and motivate children to be independent and curious learners.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting and promoting children’s early education and development
  • Planning and providing effective care, teaching and learning that enables children to progress and prepare them for school
  • Making accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Developing effective and informed practice
  • Safeguarding and promoting the health, safety and welfare of children
  • Working in partnership with the key person, colleagues, parents and/or carers or other professionals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing and promoting the policies and the Staff Rules to ensure the ethos, implementation and legal requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage are met
  • Supporting children’s development and their individual needs
  • Demonstrating a genuine enthusiasm for childcare
  • Making accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Developing effective and informed practice
  • Safeguarding and promoting the health, safety and welfare of children
  • Working in partnership with the key person, colleagues, parents and/or carers or other professionals

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a nursery setting
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A passion for working with children and providing high-quality care and education
  • All applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check
  • Any experience speaking Spanish is a bonus

Your new role will involve assisting with the day-to-day running of the classes, supporting the students and using your initiative to help them succeed. The full-time hours are 40 hours a week, working between 7:30am and 6pm. The nursery is open 51 weeks of the year. The role is permanent and is an immediate start, with flexible working options available, including part-time and full-time hours. An extra week’s holiday is provided when the nursery is closed over Christmas!
