Do you have experience working with pupils on a 1:1 basis, delivering interventions, or providing classroom support?
Hays Education is working with a number of weing and inclusive primary schools in and around Honiton, who are looking to recruit dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants for a variety of roles starting in September 2026.
These rewarding opportunities involve supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential within mainstream primary school settings.
Your New Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you may be required to:
β’ Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs.
- Deliver targeted interventions to support academic and social development.
- Assist pupils within the classroom to access learning effectively.
- Support children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH requirements.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and parents to support pupil progress.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote inclusion throughout the school day.
- What You'll Need to Succeed
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
- Strongmunication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Experience with SEND, interventions, or behaviour support is desirable but not essential.
