As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in assessing tender opportunities, reviewing technical documentation, and preparing detailed cost estimates for a variety of civil engineering projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating tender opportunities and reviewing drawings/specifications.
- Defining scope of work and preparing conceptual, budgetary, and firm price estimates.
- Conducting site visits to assess constraints and risks.
- Collaborating with Operations and HSE teams to define subcontract packages.
- Engaging with subcontractors and evaluating their proposals.
- Coordinating with internal departments for technical input and design requirements.
- Managing the tender process, including launch meetings, mid-bid reviews, and settlement meetings.
- Ensuring compliance with bid governance and compiling submission documents.
- Supporting contract negotiations and handovers to delivery teams.
- Building and maintaining client and supply chain relationships.
You’ll ideally be a construction engineer or technician with experience in civil engineering structure repair, looking to transition into an office-based role. A strong understanding of commercial issues, cost estimation, risk, and works programming is essential. Familiarity with structural surveys, bridge bearing assessments, expansion joints, concrete repairs, and post-tensioning systems will be advantageous.
