Your new company
You will be working for an authority in the West Midlands region that aims to create a more prosperous, fairer, greener, and healthier environment for the local area. This authority is managing the design of new tram extensions within Birmingham, a project valued at £1.3 billion. Due to the award of the second phase, the authority is hiring a Construction Manager/Assistant Delivery Manager on a long-term freelance basis.
Your new role
You will support Delivery Managers in completing tram extension projects and managing contractor deliverables. Your responsibilities include liaising with the design team, ensuring challenges are resolved, and supporting project and budget updates. You will oversee detailed infrastructure development and assist Resident Engineers with audits, ITPs, and quality management.
What you\’ll need to succeed
Experience in developing and delivering complex engineering projects, preferably in Heavy or Light rail or similar major schemes, is required. Experience as a Clerk of Works or Construction Manager is desirable but not essential. Familiarity with NEC contracts and technical standards in rail and highway projects is important.
