Due to an increase in workload as we start the new year, one of the prestigious organisations in Edinburgh is looking for an electrician to join their estates department. They oversee hundreds of commercial buildings in and around Edinburgh. They run a multi-trade department, and you will be working alongside other trades and members of the public.
As a maintenance electrician, your duties may include:
- Routine inspection and testing of electrical installations around various building types
- Repairing lighting, sockets, distribution boards and controls
- Servicing emergency lighting systems, which may include LED upgrades
- Maintaining generators and UPS systems
- Restoring power safely in critical areas such as data centres or laboratories
- Diagnosing electrical failures or power outages
- General reactive maintenance small works
You will be a qualified Electrician with a valid, in-date Gold ECS card graded to Electrician or above. Due to the mobile nature of the role, you are required to have a UK driving licence and live within a commutable distance to the depot you are assigned to.
You will receive an immediate start at one of the most recognisable organisations in Edinburgh. Due to the nature of the work they have planned, there is a high chance this position will develop into a full-time position for the right individual. Hays will pay you weekly PAYE with annual leave accrued throughout the contract.
