We are working with a growing business based in Doncaster, recognised for its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and delivering high-quality products. As the company continues to expand, they are looking to appoint a Management Accountant to strengthen the finance team and support ongoing growth.
Your new role:
- Prepare and finalise monthly management accounts to agreed deadlines, including variance analysis with clear commentary against budget and forecast.
- Lead the month-end close process, covering journals, accruals, reconciliations, and maintaining general ledger integrity in line with accounting policies.
- Produce management reports with KPIs and trend analysis to give meaningful insight into performance.
- Monitor production costs, overheads, and margins to ensure efficiency and profitability across operations.
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, aligning financial targets with operational plans and strategic objectives.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic projects and decision-making.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and production teams to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, streamline reporting, and strengthen controls.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Either a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or an active studier/nearly qualified with strong progress toward completion.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
- Understanding of inventory management, stock valuation, and margin analysis to ensure accurate reporting of production costs.
- Strong management accounting and financial analysis experience.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- ERP/MRP system experience (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Sage) is advantageous.
