We are recruiting a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 2:1 support for a learner with additional needs who is transitioning back into structured learning and developing independent living skills. This role is ideal for candidates with a support worker, care, SEN, SEMH, or behaviour support background.

About the role

  • Provide 2:1 support for one learner alongside another member of staff
  • Focus on independent living skills, emotional regulation, and engagement
  • Support the learner in structured activities rather than traditional classroom lessons
  • Use de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour support
  • Assist with routines, transitions, and personalised learning plans
  • Work collaboratively with the wider support and pastoral team

What you'll need to succeed

  • SEN Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Learning Support Assistant, or Care Worker background
  • Experience with ASC, SEMH, complex needs, or challenging behaviour
  • Confident using de-escalation, Team Teach, MAPA, or similar training
