Your new company Hays are working with a diverse secondary school & sixth form in Cheltenham to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Science Specialist to join their vibrant team on a long-term, full-time basis! If you’re passionate about inspiring young minds and confident delivering engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry or Physics we’d love to hear from you!
Your new role:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons across KS3 to KS5
- Plan and prepare schemes of work in line with the national curriculum
- Mark and assess student work, providing constructive feedback to support progress
- Use data to inform teaching and adapt strategies to meet individual learning needs
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment with strong behaviour management
- Liaise with colleagues, parents, and pastoral teams to support student wellbeing and achievement
What you'll need to succeed:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Proven experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics
- Confident classroom management and ability to engage mixed-ability groups
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive and flexible approach to teaching and school life
- Reliable transport (as the school is not easily accessible via public transport)
